Thanks for the info. I am planning to have something similar built, but, possibly with a single central spine on the ladder. The final choice will depend on whether I'll be able to get a good enough hinge system. Not only sturdy enough, but, also something that will not be bad on your knees/suit if you happen to kneel on it. I really like your idea of a small platform above the tube and the hand railing. I had the same problem with rain at 50 knots. My solution is using slalom ski helmets and goggles. I have additional sets for my guests. And all of us are divers, so we'll dress into our suits before driving out to the sea.I am presently building a cabin for this boat. Rain at 50 knots really hurts
