I bought the Inon Grip Base D Arm to use with my S2000 strobe/compact camera set up. I thought that it would be nice to eliminate the variable of too many adjustments and moving parts since I was a first-timer to underwater photography. However, having used that set up now I see it's limitations. I had the strobe mounted on the left side of the housing and was unable to put light to the right side of any subject. Was also difficult to get light into nooks & crannies where eels hide.
I want to change to an arm system that allows me more flexibility with strobe positioning. I'm completely at a loss as to what to get!!! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Check out ULCS arms/clamps. They'll allow you to position the strobe anywhere you need it. They may also have an adapter so you can still use your Inon tray/handle - IDK. Something like this:

Reef Photo sells a lot of it so they can hook you up with the right pieces. Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros

I've sent an email inquiry to Reef Photo asking if the ULCS will work with the existing Inon tray base. I could kick myself for going with the D arm to begin with! Common sense should have told me it wouldn't be optimal, eh?

It's kind of hard to tell but it appears Inon has a ball mount adapter for their arms that will work wth your D-Arm also: INON Base

Been using Ultralight arms for 15 yrs, bought direct from them when I was living in Saudi, probably the best in the market.
