Need a buddy in Newport Beach area

Going to be in Newport Beach the 28th through the 30th with the family. The wife doesn't dive is anyone in the area interested in a easy to moderate dive in the area? (maybe Shaw's Cove) It will need to be early'ish one of those mornings?

Along that same line any recommendations on where to snag a tank or two in the area? We are staying on the cheap at the Newport Channel Inn.
