I'm an AOW diver and will be in Islamorada on a family vacation but since I'm the only diver in the family, I am on the lookout for a dive buddy. I've got around 35 dives logged and am very comfortable in the water. I'll be staying around mile marker 81.

Can anyone recommend a good dive operator close by, as well as the best dive sites in less than 100fsw?
Also, if anyone is going to be down there at the same time, I'm looking for a buddy or would love to dive with some other scubaboard personalities.

Thanks -Will

Edit: The operator "Key Dives" in Bud N' Mary's Marina is real close to where I'm staying and has a dive master go down on every dive. That's a huge plus if I'm going buddyless.

Go with Diver City at MM 110 in Tavinier. If you are serious about diving and getting the best dives (and equipement) see:

Tell Barabara I sent you. Let me know how you enjoyed her boat and the dives.

I've dove with Upper Keys Dive center a number of times in the last year and they are a quality operation. Don, captain and owner, and his son Jason are friendly as well as professional. They are located at MM 95.5 just south of the Tavernier Creek Bridge on the ocean side.

I would not recommend the Florida Keys Dive center, They almost left me at Pete's reef last Sunday and never did a head count or a roll call.
