Years ago, I did the night dive on the Flower Gardens with the MV Spree.

I believe they used a bunch of OMS strobes - but they were orange........

They were really bright and seemed very robust......

Scroll down on the page to see the strobe......

Hope this helps.......M

I've got one of those that I found on the bottom three years ago. Cleaned it up, put new batteries in it, works like a charm. Had a minor flood with it (user error) dried it out, put new batteries in it, works like a charm.

Mine is also orange, and not labelled OMS. Probably sold by whoever makes 'em for OMS. This is in my "I-won't-dive-without-it" kit and I bring it down and clip onto the upline on every wreck dive I do here in NJ.

I brought to the Caymans and on night dives could see it at 200+ ft. Also use it for night dives in Bonaire where I attach it to the back of the truck as a reference for exit point.

Highly recommended.

Note - I have been in snotty viz here in NJ where it couldn't really be seen at 20' but that's a rarity.
