My wife and I area headed to Bonaire for the first time and can't be more excited. We are getting very excited about heading out and can't wait to get wet. Were staying at the GRI and will be there from April 6th to 13th.

We've hit up the BSDME book and other's suggestions on here for some popular dive sites. Anyone have any additional comments on theses sites? Any to add to the list?

Karapata
Ol' Blue
Oil Slick
Andrea 1 & 2
Hilma Hooker
Angel City
Alice In Wonderland
Town Pier Night Dive

How is the National Park to visit? We were thinking about hitting that up on our day before flying. Anything else that would be great to know?

Here's to a week full of bubbles. ;)

Congratulations, you're going to have a great time. I was just there in January and plan to go back asap.

Definitely check out the second reef at Angel City -great coral formations.
The Hilma is great.
Try Our Confidence off Eden Beach -it's a cool wooden wreck.
Karpata & Oil Slick are good.
Don't forget to check out Bari Reef.

Personally, I would skip Andrea I. My buddy and I didn't find it all that fantastic. We did not dive Andrea II though.

Have Fun

Check out my videos of Bonaire. I have 10 posted right now and hopefully more to come.

Enjoy!:D

great thanks for the info, defintely check out hte 2nd reef at Angel City. My wife and I are both really into coral formtions and aquatic animals.

Do not start at Karapata. It can be quite rough there. Save it for later in the week.

I would suggest you first dives be Alice in Wonderland and Angel City. Then as you get a feel for things work your way north (west).

I personally like Ol' Blue on that side of the Island. My buddy "Herman" loves Oil Slick!!!

Ask him about his dive # 300 there !

The double reef at the south sites is worth doing.

hehehe, must be a rather interesting story then. ;)

Sounds like a good plan of attack starting at Alice and Angel first then heading on up.

On a more serious note, Old Blue and Windsock are a couple of good sites to start out on. They are easier entries than most. Karpata can be pretty rough at times and as good a site as it is, I tend to avoid it when diving with weaker divers. I would also add 1000 Steps to your must do list if for no other reason than it's the signature dive of Bonaire. It's an easy entry site (once you get down the 67 steps :) ).
