On November 14th & 15th a group of us from East Coast Divers in Hagerstown, MD are heading down to Carolina Beach in NC to dive with "Outer Banks Diving" for some Giant Megalodon teeth hunting on the ledge.

PRICE: $160 per day, two tank dive, or one "doubles" dive. (get $5 off per day on diving if you stay at the Beach Cottage)

We have 4 spots left. If you are interested in joining us PM me and I can give more details.

I might be interested, but have a question: Outer banks diving is out of hatteras, and carolina beach is Wilmington... many hours apart by land and water, is the flying fish down in Carolina beach?

I believe that is where Outer Banks Diving winters their boat. I will find out definitely and post it soon.

I enjoy hearing of shark tooth finds. Please post photos upon return. I took these photos in Venice FL this past summer. I find lots of frags and low quality, but every once in a while I find a good one.

Damn nice collection Lee!

We are on for saturday if Gary can pull it off for us. He needs to fill the boat both days, so we are on a waiting list. I hope we get on for saturday since it is something both Kate and I have been wanting to do.:cool2:

Hello Randy,

The photos are mine but the sharks teeth are not. I have my collection but it does not compare to the photos I posted. I am a bit of a camera nut, so I found that taking photos of fossils is fun too. JoyfulLee and I visited Venice Florida this past summer (2009) and dove for teeth. We found some. The ones in the photos above belong to the people we dove with. They are Venice locals. Of course I had my camera with me. I always do. So I took photos of their collections

Here are some of my finds. (Charleston SC)

Randy,

Below are some references for if and when you and others make on down to Charleston SC

JoyfulLee and I went diving for Megalodons this past dive season with Back Water Diversions. We traversed the beautiful back waters of Charleston SC. Our very experienced river guide, Phil Myers, took us down the Cooper River and then into a tributary called the French Quarter. We dove in an area affectionately called the kiddy pool because of its shallow depth (20ft), warm sandy bottom, low boat traffic, and low current. Joy and I used scuba tanks and some of the others used a Hookah. The Hookah is a rig that pumps surface air down to a diver. The guys using the Hookah also had a tank on their back and were doing 2-1/2 hour dives.

I found the tooth on the right at this site (summer 2009)

I just returned from a wekend of tooth diving with Johnny & Amy on the Flying Fish and found plenty of teeth. This is a trip that is well worth it if you want to find teeth and have a great time doing it. I will definetly be going back before the season ends.
