Since Buy/ Sell threads often go off track I always make an offer or commit to buy via DM and if it looks like there might be other action I often put a "DM Sent" placemark in the thread. Depending on the seller's preference, a serious commitment like "I'll take it" should supercede a low offer or soft negotiation. But in the end it's up to the seller who he sells to. In this instance it would have been helpful if the seller offered more information on his product.
