Those lenses will fit any Nikon camera as far as I know.

It is unfortunate that he didn't stick to it, but some folks just don't have the inclination. Assuming he hasn't done UW photography before, that's a complex system to start with, especially if he isn't a capable land shooter.
 
One of the things I've always liked about Nikon is the fact that the Nikon lens mount hasn't changed in like forever. My oldest Nikon (Nikkor) lens was manufactured in the mid-1960's and it will work on my Nikon D300 & D7100 as well as on all current Nikon SLR's. The older Nikkor lenses simply needed to have the aperture rings replaced or modified to work on newer Nikon cameras.

My newer Nikon lenses lack the 'rabbit ears' attachment point to hook-up with the metering system on my old Nikon F2 film camera body.

Wish your system was for a D300. I'd like to drop it in a Nauticam housing.
