Hi - I'm booking a dive package through Evergreen Hotel in January. Their 5-day package only includes 3 days of diving, so I've had them add two more days (no, we won't be flying out on a dive day :no...we're continuing on to Jungle Bay). The diving will be done through Nature Island Dive, which seems like a pretty good operator based on what I've read. The price for the extra days, however, seems pretty high and I'd like to get someone's feedback. Evergreen is charging $90US per person/per day for two-take dives.

It's hard to break down what they're charging per person/ per dive in the standard package because that also includes airport transfers, breakfast, etc.

I'll be phoning them to confirm, but was interested to hear if that was standard pricing for the area from those who've been.

Thanks.

...may have found my own answer. Checking the competition's site (Nature Island doesn't appear to post their rates) at Dive Dominica, it appears they also charge $90 for a two-take. Sigh.

No harm in asking Jenny (Evergreen) to ask Karen (Nature Island) if there's a better price for 10 daylight tanks per person vs. 6. Also, if you're into it, ask how much to add a night dive. Jenny may be able to rework the numbers and get you a better deal on the package. You'll be disappointed if you stay in anything other than a Sea View room. If you're renting a car for your stay, pick it up at Melville Hall & Jenny will give you credit for unused transfers. Best to sign up for breakfasts only at the hotel. Happy Trails!

Yeah, ask for a multi dive discount. I don't remember what I paid in June but at the time I thought it was resonable. I dove with NID and will dive with them again and again.

I just got back from the Big Island and I only got the price down to $90 USD per two-tank dive by booking a package of 5 days of diving.

Thanks all. Now, if any of you have advice on how to speed up time so that my late January trip happens quickly, please let me know. In order of preference, my own thoughts lead me to the following initial suggestions:

1) Weird cryogenic situation a la Austin Powers or Buck Rogers
2) Strange psychopharmacological event
3) Quick blow to the head, inducing convenient 6 month catatonic state
