i believe it is safe to say that our harvesting has been successful as the areas we harvested : Portulano and Ligpo, the area has been cleared of them, there are just a few of them left.

however infront of VILLA CASTILLO.... where no collection efforts have been made... the area is literally covered in white corals and COTS.

Wow, that hurt. I know that diver suffered for a while. Seems the "BAD IDEA" fairy is running rampant. The terrible thing is the nerve damage caused by the toxin. Typically divers feel pain, discomfort, and nausea immediately after the sting. The real hazard is to those divers prone to anaphalactic shock from allergies caused by bee stings and, you guessed it, COTS. Staying away from the critters is the best course of action. SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY !!!!!

and that's becasue i used a small knife instead of tongs !

i think now i have immunity from them. a tip is still embedded into that finger. you can still feel it up to this day !

.
Better get that tip removed. I'm surprised you didn't get some sort of infection leaving it embedded in that finger.

me too. i was kinda expecting an infection however, never materialized.

as soon as i got out of the water i applied my "secret" emergency cream to the wound. i mention it to those interested in having items in their emergency/First Aid kit. very versatile and effective cream !

i tired to remove it myself but it was kinda painful. was only able to get to the 2nd dermis then i stopped. hehhehe i did it here in the office, got a blade heated it up in a flame and then sliced the skin to get to it. however i was not too sure ofmy finger anatomy as i didn't know if a vein or artery would be around that area. so i chickend out and left me with a dermis cut . poured alcohol and then applied my "secret" cream when i got home.

i thought you turn into a turtle when you get stung, like this guy:

and nothing like a couple of beers for a cure:

SAFETY my a55. Didnt you just recommend pricking each of the critters as many times as it has arms, using a half-meter metal rod? How can that be safer than using that same rod to prick it once in the middle and move it, in one simple motion, into a waiting container? I find it illogical. And when you consider that we're dealing with thousands of the critters, side by side and on top of each other, it's just plain stupid.
