Sorry to hear about everyone's bad experiences. I don't think one bad experience, or good one, should make or break a dive op. I have been interested in going to the Bahamas to do the shark feeding dive. As soon as I have dough, I will go.

Just wanted to reiterate that our experience with Stuart Cove's was great...for us, the hotel had nothing to do with the dive op.

And our hotel arrangements were through NorthWest Airlines, they did all that could be hoped for, and more, to help us out.

All the best, James

Another good piece of news is that the South Ocean Beach website is finally admitting that the place is closed and being renovated, so hopefully no-one else will get stuck.

As for Stuart Cove's, my opinion is not high considering hubby has a paint stained shortie from a boat they used without letting the paint cure properly, we both got stuck "at sea" for a couple of hours when one of their boats broke down and they had no radio, and my unfortunate experience acting as an involuntary snorkeling instructor for two obnoxious children one afternoon because Stuart's shop didn't bother to provide anyone to go with the kids (or even check as to the children's skills, etc.) IMO, Stuart and his wife are far more concerned about making movies than in providing good services for divers. Others, though, swear by the place, so its a matter or opinion.

Was there last Christmas. It was quite run down at the time. The employees told us that thery were going to tear it down and put something like 70 million $$ into building a new casino and resort. Got to really put a damper on Stuarts business.
