Rov,
Very interesting. First, what is Sea Space Inc. in Houston Tx. I'm moving to Houston next year.
Second, the pic of the Windjammer was great. Won 1st place I see.
Third,
I loved the Macro section.
The "Jumbo" was fantastic. So was the " Sweeper." Dennis Davenport of Seabrook, Tx. Who is he? And why isn't he on the scuba board? He submitted "No place to Hide" which one 3rd place, and was also great.
Can't wait to hear all the answers!

Natasha...SeaSpace is a Dive and Travel Expo that the Houston Underwater Club puts on every year. Manufacturers, Travel Agents, Resorts, etc. show their wares. There are usually 2 days of seminars and parties however the flood we had here in June cut that to one day.

Check out their website...SeaSpace

Alot of dive shops look forward to booking their years worth of dive trips at SeaSpace every year! Beast and I volunteer every year and we have a blast.

Maybe we'll see ya there in 2002?!?!?!

Lotsa Questions!

You will have to join the Houston Underwater Photographic Society when you arrive. Dennis is a VP I believe, and he runs our monthly contest. He is a good friend and I will be seeing him this Monday. He had a great shot in the Seaspace contest.

Seaspace is an annual gathering of Vendors, clubs, manufacturers, organizations, etc., in the Florida, Texas/ Mexican/ Central American - Caribbean area. A far cry from a DEMA, but a great regional gathering with displays and booths pertaining to Texas and regional diving. The photo contest is open to everyone and is first class judging by this years winners.

This past year was plagued with floods and many vendors were no-shows, and the 3 day event ended up taking place on Sunday.

You can follow next years plans by bookmarking the Seaspace.org site. Another is HUPS.com (or is it org?). There you will find our club site.

Why is Dennis not on the scubaweb? I will ask him Monday.

And tho' the Windjammer shot was great, the photographer was hovering on about 200 fsw....the dive is even better!

Dee, and Drew,
Thanks for answering all my questions. Sounds like I'm really going to like living down there. It really helps 'knowing' some divers before I come down. Makes me feel 'not so alone'.
Sea Space sounds like our "Our World Underwater" here. A bit smaller then Dema, but still very worth going to.
Thanks again!

Outside of the "wrecks" at Dutch Springs where I did my Open Water and Advanced, Ive been to two wrecks in New Jersey so far are:

The Great Isaac - off of Barneget Inlet
the Almirante (aka. The Flour Wreck) - off of Atlantic City.

Both were great dives.

Hey Stone,
Someone killed the Groupers on Miss Louise. The 300+ groupers body was in the boat hull, the other smaller one hasn't been accounted for. However, around the time frame it disappeared someone tried to weight in a JewFish Grouper he spear fished... there in Destin. of couse he was busted hehehe. Don't know if that one was it or not.
