UP, I was into the sign shop I mentioned and the new machine is there for all to see. It's called a CJ-Solventhet II, details at http://www.allgraphicsupplies.com/PC_CJ_Solvent_II.shtml . Chatting with them, for anything more than 2 colours it is much cheaper than cut vinyl.
