Can anyone tell me what these are? I've been searching for ages and can't see anything other than Silver Moony's - but they've not got the black lines... ?

Thanks y'all.
Alistair.

Where did you take this picture?

Those are Diamondfish
Monodactylus argenteus
Also called
Fingerfish
Silver Moony
Diamond moonfish
.. and a bunch of others ..
The prominent black lines fade with age.
Rick :)

Hi Rick,

Thanks, I didn't look close enough at those eyes. Some of them still have the band going top to bottom where the lines would be if younger.

Thanks!

Why not name him Moe?

Always good to specify where the photo was taken and at what depth. Lots of pelagic fish spend their "youth" in shallow waters, often in between the reefs hanging out close by then move out.
