Greetings all from N2theBlue in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands!
It is our pleasure to be part of the ScubaBoard community and we look forward to chatting with you and looking forward to diving with you over the years to come! Founded in 2002, N2theBlue is located in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands (airport code: STX). This is part of the USA so no passports are needed for USA citizens. Its as easy as flying to Las Vegas or Chicago. :)

N2theBlue Scuba Diving has 2 locations:
Headquarters in Frederiksted just 100 steps from the cruise ship pier,
2nd location servicing the Salt River Canyon / The Wall.

What are the MUST SEE DIVES in St. Croix?

  1. The Pier in Frederiksted. One of the Seven Jewels of the Caribbean, it is like diving through a Gothic Cathedral with pillars reaching towards the sun with dazzling corals and sponges instead of stained glass windows. Did I mention there are more seahorses here than anywhere else? Hire a divemaster to show you one of your 1st days, then go explore with your buddy the rest of your vacation.
  2. The Salt River Canyon / The Wall (Northside of St. Croix). The Salt River Canyon is a prehistoric waterfall (now underwater). The canyon stretches a 1/4 mile across with a near sheer drop on the West Wall. Just around the corner of the Canyon is The Wall and stretches for several miles.
  3. The Wrecks @ Butler Bay (Frederiksted-side of St. Croix). There are more wrecks than just these five; however, these are the most popular. Deep wrecks at 80-110' and the Shallow Wrecks at 40-70'. If you get a moment, ask us about the wreck call Armageddon.
  4. The Reefs of Frederiksted. The calm waters of the west-side of St. Croix are protected from the waves and wind, has the largest beach, the turtle sanctuary (Sandy Point), and has more dive sites than most of the island combined. Kings Corner, Rum Barrel Reef, OMG, Baby Blue, (the famous) Swirling Reef of Death, Aquarium, The Pier, Rainbow Reef, Tide Box, Cables, Sprat, Sugar Reef, Butler Bay, Grand Central Station, and about another 40 more. The reef is about 200 yards off shore, gently slopes to 55' when it takes its 1st drop to about 110'. This makes for excellent diving, especially since the waters are calm.
  5. Night Diving @ The Pier in Frederiksted. Your light makes colors blaze underwater unlike any other dive. These pillars/pylons have so much to show. Known for seahorses, turtles, and the different species of Octopus, N2theBlue Scuba Diving can show you our favorite creatures by name. Also, bioluminescence is around most nights!

N2theBlue Scuba Diving specializes in semi-private, small group diving. We limit our boats to no more than six guests. This makes us different than most other dive operators who take 15-30 divers at once. We enjoy the dives and seeing the life that comes with small groups and for that personal experience, the safety and service you desire. More of a boutique shop where singles, couples, or groups enjoy this semi-private diving experience and get in the water fast and enjoy longer dive time. (Other companies take out 15-30 people at a time where it takes a while to get both in and out of the water, and to make up for that they usually have shorter dive times). N2theBlue enjoys taking longer dives and exploring more of the warm waters. We can easily accommodate larger groups by taking out multiple boats. :)

Let us tell you more about the island and help you plan your trip.
In general, the west (Frederiksted-area) is the calm, peaceful side of the island with the largest beach, calm waters, great B&Bs, condos, and even historic sugar mills to rent out for your evening rest. Horseback riding, massages, turtle preservation sites, Cruzan Rum Factory, museums, Beer-drinking pigs, and a Rain Forest are all right here. The North is the sheer drop into The Wall. Pockets for beaches between the typically rougher seas and winds. Clear days one can see St. Thomas just 44 miles away. "The East" is Christiansted and further east. This side of the island is the bigger, more hustle-and-bustle side of the island. Jewellery shops and several bars/restaurants on the board-walk, with shorter trees than the west and north (prevailing winds are always on the east in the Caribbean).

If others in the group are not into diving, we have snorkel gear for rent and even snorkel guides. Nearby Frederiksted is also a paddleboarding surf shop and further up the beach are jet-ski, volley ball, and kayak rentals. If they aren't into water activities, let us point them towards getting a massage, a few places to eat/drink, museums, bicycle (or ATV) tours, or just a relaxing place in the shade.

We are excited to introduce N2theBlue to ScubaBoard.

Cheers!

[Update June 2014]
Our website was just updated for the 1st time in years -- and I think we've a nice look/feel to it. Just need to get a few more pages up, some videos, assess the new flow of traffic -- and hopefully we can get someone who is really good at this to polish the code into something modern! Your input is appreciated!
