I have a new problem with my Zeagle N2ition. It no longer turns off after any period of "no use". This is an annoying problem as it does not take long to burn through a battery. Is this a known problem with a known solution? It would be a shame to have to replace the computer as it is only a couple years old.

Does anybody out there have any ideas for me to try?

It is a 2 Gas model.

Well that throws my first answer out the window, the display for the 2 gas model is definitely supposed to turn off in between uses. Take a look at the contacts, is there anything allowing them to activate? Corrosion, crud, etc bridging across them?

Does it remain on in all screens? If you cycle through a couple screens would they remain on if you walked away for a few minutes or is it possibly one screen/function that's bugging out?

I don't have a 2 gas model nearby that I can grab and play with, I'll have to get something from the Service Department and see if I can replicate the problem. Then I'll contact our supplier and see if they have a suggestion for us. You said it was a couple years old, can you tell me when you purchased it roughly? I'm sure they'll ask me so I want to be prepared.

Wow.....I have been diving it longer than I thought. It was mid 2008 that I purchased it.

There is nothing visible that is crossing the contacts (I am in my office and unable to open the unit). As for the "different screens", I cannot say for certain eight now. I know I have pushed many buttons (several times) looking for a setting and it has always remained on (I cannot say if I have always left it in the same screen or not).

Heh, you may have one of the first ones we started selling. You're definitely putting it through its paces.

I'll see if I can get a quick response from our rep on this for you.

Actually I take it back, I was wrong. The 2 gas model is supposed to stay on and the 3 gas model turns off its display.

This is both computers on. The N2ition 2 gas model is on the left and the N2ition3 3 gas model is on the right (the N2ition was on when I grabbed it from the Service Department, the N2ition3 required me to tap a button to fire up the display)

After a few minutes the N2ition3 display turns off (ignore the time displayed between both separate photos, I walked around a bit before taking the first picture)

Just to be clear, you do have the N2ition 2 gas model, correct?

Yes I definitely have the 2 gas model. So you are saying mine is not supposed to turn off after a period of inactivity? Thanks for clarifying that.

Correct, why one model did power down the display and the other didn't is unknown to me. We obviously didn't manufacture the computer itself so the design decisions evolved without our input.

Sorry for the confusion earlier today, I knew that one of the computers left the screen on all the time but I got them mixed up. Let me know if I can assist any further. :D
