How is VIS over there? The shore line was really bad VIZ though...

There's Coastal Scuba in Myrtle Beach and Express Watersports in Murrells Inlet - about 20-25 min. south. We dove with Express and I recall them mentioning that they don't dive there in winter since the viz gets bad and they get blown out a lot by storms/weather. There's no shorediving in the area, it's all shallow and sandy offshore for miles. So it's mostly offshore wreck diving.

BTW the Bill Perry and 11 Mile tugboat sites are mediocre at best. Viz was marginal even in the summer.

I dove with Coastal Scuba, www.coastalscuba.com this summer on the Sherman, Coastal was a pretty good operation but the Sherman is ok at best. When we arrived at the Sherman they tied us off and let us go in above the thermocline you had pretty good vis and below it seriously dropped off. I have a few navigation problems anyway but I swam off one side of the wreck and lost it entirely. Me and my buddy had to go above the thermocline to find it again and then went back down. If you have any other questions let me know.
