45lb wing is still too much. if you want to go with oms try their new 29lb single tank wing (if it is finally for sale).

Wow.... I still don't see what the big deal is with this 100# wing. I made the exact same purchase when I was a newbie, and have had no problems. I tried the 45# and the 100# and the both felt the same. So, bigger is better in my mind.
Go with the 100#. Go with the cumberbun, and pockets, I love them. I just wish my wing was black and not red.
I dont use bungies, just because they look lame all bunched up. I just attatched the wing in a mannor that they kind of "Fold in" and is very low profile, and my wing doesnt flap in the wind.
Email me if you hae anyquestions on setup if you end up getting the 100#.

Neither do I recommend diving a 100# bladder with a single tank. I dive a 27# wing with a single steel. I use a 55# or a 70# for double steels. I would never dive the 55# or the 70# with a single.
xnight.. you received some good advice in this thread and some bad advice as well. Hopefully you will be smart enough to figure out which is which.
Ok, I work in a shop fulltime and this is a little something that I have learned over the years that not only helps me, but helps out the customer too. I let them use it in the water, most of the time it's just a pool, but you get use to it real quick and can normally see the pros/cons right away.
I agree with everyone in the a 100# wing is probably way to big, I have a 52# wing that I use with various sizes of steel ranging from 60 to 100cf, and it's way to big, I actually have a 29# on the way.
I have seen many diver's want the biggest and the best, and then they find out the hard way that wasn't the best for them.
IMO I would have to think twice about buying anything from the shop you got that stuff from, the vibe that I get is that they are in it for the money and the wellbeing of the customer is further down on the list.

I also think that xnight found his more "novice oriented" board. If you cant make it at SB, you should go back and take the Open Water class again...

Unless you need the full 100#, it sounds like it is overkill and you'll have excess drag. Why work harder than you need to?
1 other thing to consider...the dacor reg may be hard to get parts for , atleast they are up here in the boonies

Hey, lets just remember that in the end what's right for you isn't always right for me. IMO 100#'s of lift is overkill for single tank diving as well, but some of you are swinging too far the other way in your advice. My current rig is a Halcyon b/p with 27# lift and I wish I'd gone with the 36# or even the 45#. With a 3mm full suit in salt water and no weights on I still sink (wife says it's my thick skull), so I wouldn't mind a little extra lift.
So listen to experience but once you think you know what you want try it in the pool. A lot of LDS's will let you borrow gear to test, and I've found that there are times that what I thought I wanted really didn't work for me once I got under the surface.
