I think I might have been misunderstood when refering to classes. There were two classes going on. One OW class in the pool, and one advanced Nitrox class in the classroom beside us.

I would expect tons of classroom time for Adv Nitrox, because as far as I know (which isnt too far) there isnt much skill to it besides breathing (at least that can be covered in a pool). For OW, I would want alot of the class in the pool underwater. Whenever I am in the pool, I want to be under.

Im still a ways away from anything like Adv. Nitrox, but I was impressed they were doing it (in Memphis of all places?). Ill be there someday, but sadly thats not today.

I don't mean to sound arrogant, but $500 is not a lot of money to me and doesn't seem like an excessive amount to spend on something important. Maybe I'm looking at this differently because the amounts of money are so small?

But you bought a Mares Axis from Leisure Pro!!

Long ago...after reading the reviews in Scuba magazine. I wasn't really sure which reg I wanted, but I was tired of renting crappy gear. Perhpas I thought buying crappy gear was a better idea? :D

When I took my class, we had class and pool in every session but the first. All the gear was taught around the pool. They may have moved the Sat class out of the classroom because of the Adv. Nitrox class going on. And I assume you had your Nitrox class in the other classroom?

Memphis here too.... who wants to dive?
