Two days of boat diving. If you read my post in the General Scuba Discussions forum then ya got the info about my dive buddies. So this will be more about the dives.

On weds and fri i did boats to Catalina, 3 dives each. We did Sea Fan Grotto, Goat Harbor, Quarry, etc. I think the viz has been amazing at all sites. Yesterday, I had probably 40 ft of very good visibility at the Quarry and 50 ft of viz overall. I caught a glimpse of a bat ray that was at least 50 ft away. I could identify it's head shape but that's about it. Plenty of BSB swimming around, too.

On weds we saw two Blue Whales feeding (mouths breaching wide open). That was an amazing sight. Saw another one heading out on Friday. Saw lots of dolphins both trips but on friday they were swimming the bow. Friday we also saw a mola mola on the return trip.

Also on weds we did a site the operator had never done. Looking into Howland's Landing, we were just to the right of it. The sea life wasn't exciting but potential was there. The kelp and structure were excellent!!

So, in summary, I'm encouraged by the great viz at virtually every site, the largest number of pelagics I've ever seen going to/from the island and the increase in BSB numbers.
