It will be something that I will never will forget. It was on Friday May 14th 2004 I had some trouble holding my beath for 50 ft. swim underwater. I was ok with the 200-300 yard swim. Then we had to tred water and practice kepping your head above water without swimming basecle flouting it was hopefully the rest of the classes will go well.

hey, scubaJM, congratz on your first steps into a wonderful world! you'll love it.

congratulations on making your first steps into what will be some truly wonderful experiences.

You had all of the hard stuff the first class. It only gets better from here! When you are breathing on SCUBA at the bottom of the pool you will wonder why you waited so long to do this. Then there is the first time in real open water..Then the first dive without your instructor..then your first vacation... then.... Lots of 'firsts' yet to come and they keep getting more exciting.
Welcome to the board and welcome to diving. Keep us posted on your experiences. I'd like to hear them.

...welcome to a whole new world ! I'm still fairly new to diving myself (certified 2 1/2 years ago) and only started going on 'foreign' dive trips last July, but now I'm seriously hooked on diving, and I'm amazed at some of the things I've done since then....things I'd never imagined doing when I got certified ( 2 trips to Cozumel, maxing out @ 140 ft. deep/ taking Advanced Nitrox/Deco procedures/ diving doubles, doing a week of Cave Diving in Akumal, Mexico last Sept/ and heading for week in Bonaire in late July 2004)....so don't sweat your class, you may surprise yourself, just as I did...best of luck!
