Well, I had my first Open Water dive this morning at Veteran's Park! Didn't see much, and the vis was 15, maybe 20 feet, but MAN that was fun!! (We did see a couple of small halibut and a couple of other fish.)
Anyhow, I wanted to acknowledge Instructor Seann, Divemaster Freddie, and all the other great staff at Pacific Wilderness for making this learning experience so much fun. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks, Guys!!
Tomorrow, final Certification dives off of the Bottom Scratcher at Catalina! I hope I can get some sleep tonight!!:D:D

Congratz! Try Vets at night. You'll see stuff scurrying around.

If your not hooked into this sport yet you will be soon!:dork2:

Hmmmm me thinks I smell a diveaholic in the making. If you are jazzed about Vets in the day time (it is a better night dive than day dive) you are going to be in paradise after Catalina off a boat, and throughly hooked. Say good by to friends and family and all your money. Soon you too will be just gong through the motions until you next fix of compressed air.

Welcome to diving, see you in the water.

well i know u enjoyed the Bottom Scratcher i did that boat on my last cert dives. the staff is great and they feed ya very well

i was at vet park sat morn too. was you gone before the dolphins showed up?

They (the dolphins) were there today, BTW.

I didn't get in early enough on Saturday, but some swam by while we were doing pre-dive checks on the surface this morning.

Good times.

Congrats. You will be even more hooked after you dive catalina.

We were just getting out of the water when the dolphins went by, or at least when we saw them go by.

Yeah the Bottom Scratcher was great, although a little crowded today. I think there were about 35 people on board. Great crew, I especially enjoyed the Captain playing his bagpipes as we headed out on our first dive! THAT was awesome!! The diving was great, too! We anchored at Indian Rocks and did our first two dives there. Beautiful, with really great vis! For the last dive, we moved down to Isthmus Cove. Just as beautiful with a reef floor instead of sand. Saw lots of Garibaldi, cool little guys that I think were Blue-Banded Goby, a Leopard Shark, and lots of other stuff I don't know. TONS of fun! I'm definitely hooked! :D
