Thanks. I used the camera in upside down position. It helped with leveling for me. I attached the light to the end of the pole with straps with velcro. It's a small, cheap, but bright dive light from ebay (I think it's T6 LED running on one 16850 battery), that I modified from spot to flood. I can post some pictures later tonight or tomorrow.

Damn, I was thinking of doing the same thing. I was brainstorming lighting mounts for my GoPole when I decided to just build my own tray to try out. I've also heard about using the GoPro on a pole upside for better stability. I guess that's true.

Some pics of your setup would be nice. I may still do something with my pole too. The poles are really good at getting close to stuff with out spooking it.

El Pistoffo. Some pics:

Aha....I get it. Where did you get that double jointed mount/connection between the pole and the camera? That is pretty necessary if mounting the camera upside down.

The light strapping idea is quite easy looking at it. I was trying to come up with a more elaborate way of mounting it. Sometimes simpler is better.

That light looks like one of these http://www.meritline.com/1200lm-xm-l-xml-t6-led-waterproof-diving-flashlight-torch---p-92105.aspx

So many people have warned of those lights failing/flooding that I turned away from buying them but damn the price is good. I think I will try some as backup lights.

Edit:
I ordered a couple of those lights. Not a bad deal.

The extra joint came with battery Bacpac package. Yes. That's the light. I re-greased the o-rings and had it on few dives (max 110'). No problems so far.
