Heh. In my short time diving, I've found that divers love talking about diving almost as much as diving. I don't think you'll be pests

I'm surprised the DM would have you use his masks. I doubt the slight tint in the mask would make much difference-- I've seen an experienced diver doing night dives with a tinted mask. In mask fit is paramount so you should use your own if you can.

Also LED dive lights are so cheap and small that it's easy to bring your own and a backup. Look in the light Forum for recommendations of small dive lights that you can easily travel with.
