Greetings moderators,

I was wondering if there could be a way to select multiple “ignore thread” such as adding a column down the left side, so that as you click on the new post link, you are able to do some quick housework to narrow down the new post you do not wish to see the next time around? Doing so individually is time consuming and takes away from being able to quickly read through the post. If you could go down, click on the ones you do not wish to see again it could be an easy way to filter out much of the threads you are not interested in seeing over and over.

As you know, many decent dive threads are covered up in just a few short hours and are pushed back into the pages. Not saying that all the stuff posted is not any good, but some things I’m sure folks are just not interested in having to filter out to get to the other post. As a last option, is there a way to opt out of a particular forum in general? It could be that there are some filter options I’m not aware of which could be utilized to filter the fluff you’re not interested in reading.

Thanks,

Kenny

Ignore Options:
  • Ignore Thread:
    ignore.gif
    Ignore this Thread. Available from Thread Tools in any thread;
  • Ignore User: Edit Ignore List. It allows you to ignore any non-staff member;
  • Ignore Forum: At the bottom of the Edit Options page. This will show you threads from forums you're interested in when you click "New Posts".
Currently, there are no plans to add new Ignore functionality.

Ken has an interesting concept, a way to keep a thread on topic even when it wanders off.

I use the Ignore Forum option and it has greatly reduced the number of new threads that come up. Much easier to peruse new threads I'm potentially interested in. Love it.

Thanks for the information. At least if needed some forums could be filtered as a whole. Given the number of post on the forums, and many that are not related to any form of diving, I think you will see interest in having a user friendly option of opting out of multiple threads at once with only a few needed mouse clicks - rather than having to open them individually.

With many threads, readers know from the subject line that they are not interested in reading. This could be a way to minimize the 20-30 or more pages of threads to the ones a particular reader has interest in.

Either way, thanks for your response.
