Anyone been up to Mt. Storm lately and know what the conditions are like? I'm thinking about going up there this weekend to check out in water some new equipment configurations that I have put together.
If its no warmer than some of the local quarries, then I just may head to one of them.

You may be better off to hit a quarry. We are in the midst of March coming in like a Lion. It promises to be pretty cold. I am not positive on the water temp at Mt. Storm, but I don't think you are going to find it too much warmer than about 55, and I know that Lake Rawlings in VA is almost that at about 52.

I haven't checked my facts on the water temp in a while, but I know that the air temp is down right cold!!!

Someone who was down at Rawlings a few weeks ago told me the water temp was down in the upper 30's. Is it really up in the 50's now?
Thanks!

Visibility: 25-40ft

Surface Water Temp: 52

Thermalcline Water Temp: 50

Thermalcline Depth: '

Botton Temp: 50

I took this from their website. I guess it wouldn't be the first time a website was filled with bad info.

It lists current air temp as 36. I know they have been having some pretty warm weather up their lately though, so I think it would take more than one or two days of cold to completely drop the water temp.

jeadiver, was there on the 20th and posted water temps as 48 on surface and 45 at depth.

He has posted about it on a thread called Lake Rawlings 2/20/05

Hope this helps.

Thanks, warmer than I thought it was. Must be warming up fast. Although if Mt. Storm is in the 60's that sounds even more attractive.
