Hi.

I'm moving to Somerville, Mass, in September. I'm drysuit ready and would love to get into a local diving routine. While I'd be happy just to dive, I'd be even happier if there's some spearfishing. I'd welcome any suggestions as to who to contact and how to get started?

Your closest dive shop will be United Divers on Washington St. Somerville. 617-666-0410
Once you have proof of residency you can apply for a lobster permit (good til the end of 2005). I'm not familiar with spearfishing other than knowing that there are definitely some species that cannot be speared by law.
