The best diving on the east coast is just north of there in Morehead City NC. There is a bunch of boats and a few shops. They are all very close to each other. Around the end of summer it isnt rare at all to have 150+ viz and 80-82 deg water temps! I have a dive on video from a cpl years ago. We had 300+ viz and 81 on the bottom at 135'. The gulf stream comes closer to there than anywhere else on the east coast except Fa.
