Howdy folks!

I will be moving from the Pacific Northwest to Pikesville in August to attend Nursing school in Baltimore for the next 2 years. I am a dive fanatic and know that due to time and $$ constraints I won't be able to dive much there, but was hoping I could get in at least 1 weekend of diving the first semester and then maybe a couple weekends each semester after that? I'm a DMC in Washington (state) at this point and will hopefully be a DM by the time I move to MD. My main issues are 1.) I won't have a car there (the first semester at least) and 2.) I won't have my gear there (again, for the first semester at least). I may take a car and my gear out there in the future, but for now I am packing light.

I'd love to do some diving while I'm on the east coast, particularly with all the wrecks I hear about. Would anyone be interested in taking me out sometime to check out some sites? I'll gladly chip in gas money and such and hopefully there's a shop along the way I could grab some rental gear? I'm used to diving in the sometimes non-existent viz and drysuit water temps here in the PNW so cold and crappy viz are not a worry for me. :D

Even if you can't transport me, I'd love to hear from some of you east coast divers and get to know you folks and what diving over there usually consists of! :coffee:

Hey there,

Welcome to the East Coast. I live in WV, but I make it out to VA and NC to do a lot of my diving. I do a lot of my posting on NCDivers.com and that is where I have found most of the people that I go diving with. It is a very diverse crowd and there is usually someone looking for a buddy at anygiven time.

We do a lot of quarry diving as well to keep up our skills when we can't get to the ocean, so if that interests you than feel free to join in on the fun.

Welcome again and I hope to see you in the water soon and good luck in school.

Paula
