Ryde Underwater Club... i think hubby gave a talk for them once on his Rebreather - they seemed like a nice & friendly bunch - didnt notice any egos and they seemed very laid back

and im a card carrying sook...... drysuit and all :)

Gary, the water temp off Sydney today is 18 degC and air temp is 21 - pretty cool but we are in the depths of winter! Suitable for a 5 mm westsuit but some sooks do ponce around in dry suits. Suggest you join a club ASAP and plenty of LDS to choose from. When I lived in Sydney, I belonged to the Ryde Underwater Club which runs its own boat - as do other clubs. Most have a website - so check them out before you makes yer choice and pays yer dues.

cheers

Col
Thanks Col

Just looked up the word sooks and certainly wouldn't want to be considered one of them!

18 degrees you say, well that is the water temp in England at the end of the summer, and it doesn't get any warmer than that so I'll take it any day of the week.

Thanks for advice on dive clubs. Will definitely be joining one when I land

Thanks again

Gary

:rofl3:Don't bite that hook! Anyone who dives in a drysuit gets some good natured bantering. They are still quite common here. :blinking:I wonder sometimes if there is a bit of "drysuit envy" behind this:eyebrow:

i dont dive winter.... but i do in a drysuit :D

:rofl3:I don't dive winter either..... if it takes an ax to get through the first four feet of water that is like God's KEEP OUT sign.... that's good enough for me! :rofl3:If you can get into the water without an ax... IT AINT WINTER:D
