Hi im emigrating to Brisbane this year and im not sure if i should ship my faber 15ltr cylinder in the container what is involved in doing this or even if it can be tested when it gets there or if its going to be easier just to buy new when i get there any advice is much appreciated thanks.

Tanks used here have to be tested and stamped as complying to Australian standards before shops will inspect/hydro/fill them for you. If you do all your own tank testing and fills, you can probably get away without having them re-stamped, but otherwise you'd need to organise and pay for the re-stamping - at the end of the day it's probably going to be a lot less hassle (and cheaper) to sell off your tank before you come over, and buy one locally.

As davegster said above - bring the rest of your gear but sell your tanks and buy locally once you get to Australia. Getting the first Hydro test in Australia (Annual test) requires proving the tank meets Australian Standards, this is notoriously problematic and just not worth the aggravation.

Faber 15l 232bar tanks are readily available but prices are over AU$500 for a new one.

Thanks for your feedback i think i will look into buying one when i get there there not cheap over there

not cheap over there

You hit that nail on the head.

My daughter is in Townsville, and it is cheaper for her to fly to Bali to dive for a week than spend a weekend diving locally
