I recently had the chance to try a Manta-Bite and mostly liked it. It's a "worth considering" alternative to the Comfo-Bite and SeaCure mouthpieces and definitely addresses your flimsy and small silicone problem.

Here's a link to a full review that I posted elsewhere with more info.

What is the name of the oceanic brand? And if you have a link to where I can find out more about it, please post it. :)

Thanks,

Justin

I replaced my new scubapro mouthpiece with a comfobite from an aqualung reg. I have problems with my jaw (old hockey injury) and the scubapro made my jaw hurt so much I couldn't open my mouth for two days after a hard day of repetative cold water diving. The comfobite is awesome, I have never had a problem since.

Comfo-bite looks great. I'm sold. Curious though if anyone has tried both comfo-bite and Manta. Both seem to have a big bonus to sell to students and safety conscious: less discomfort plus two key safety features: 1) reduced risk of reg. being dislodged 2) more rescue time since reg. would likely stay in place...at least that is what Manta promotes in their literature...

the comfobite is nice... I like it a lot...

My Apeks came with the comfobite. Used it once and got rid of the mouthpiece. I hated the bridge that went up across the roof of the mouth. I now use one of those Seacure mouthpieces. I find it to be very comfortable. Are you sure you used the right temp. water to mold it and didn't bite down too hard? I don't think you should sink in up to your gums.

If you don't like the length of the Seacure you can trim them. I like the long wings on either side as I can use the molars to hold the mouthpiece in.

with Goldminer. The comfo-bite feels like a dental appliance to me. I've used the Oceanic in the past and it was nice. Nowadays I just use a standard mouthpiece.
