Hello All,

Is anyone aware of some 'better than stock' mouthpieces one can buy on the web for a replacement, other than the Seacure ones ?

The stock silicone one that came with my Zeagle flathead is very flimsy and not large enough for my preference. I tried the Seacure at my LDS' reccomendation, and i like the idea behind a customized fit, but the material is too hard, and my gums get very sore. Does anyone else have this problem ? Are there not some higher quality 'soft' mouthpieces out there ?

Thanks
OSB

The one that came on my U.S.D. Artic is very much like a custom fit. It's reasonably pliable. You might look at the one on the Aqua-Lung Legend and see if it's the same.

Scubapro mouthpiece is so soft, it is like jelly. No gums hurting with it. I luv it.

the comfobite is nice... I like it a lot...

Try the comfo bite.... I have several if you are interested.... A bunch came with my Aqualung Legend LX Supreme and LX Octopus.... I use Seacure

Oceanic makes a mouthpiece that fits to your bite, but it's the size and shape of a traditional mouthpiece - no gagging from the Seacure extending halfway down your throat. It has the added advantage of being 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Seacure. There are 2 sizes, get the one that fits your regulator.

A little tip for the people who don't like the length of the Seacure or how high the sides come up on your gums, I used to do this when I played football because those mouthpieces were the same size (big!) and I had the same mouth fit problems.....

Take a knife and a file to it! :) Use a sharp hobby knife and trim down the length of it and cut down the side that hit your gums. Then take a small file (I use finger nail files) and smooth the edges......then stick it in the water and cure it to your mouth size! Works liek a charm and you can have a total custom fit mouthpiece!
