How many have changed out their mouth piece on their regulator? Which one did you choose and why? Did it help reduce jaw fatigue?

I noticed during this last weekend of diving I would have to hold my regulator in my mouth for a few minutes to give my jaw a rest and I am thinking about a new mouth piece to help eliminate this issue. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Don't bite down so hard?

What kind of reg/mouthpiece do you have now?

My son tried like 6 of them, and only like the one with the extra lip extending around the mouthpiece. I tried about 5 of them, and all causes sores in my gingival margin after about 6 dives. The only one that worked for me is the seacure custom mouthpiece. Except that no one wants to buddy dive with me on that mouthpiece.

I am using an oceanic Delta 4 second stage with the FDX-10 first stage. I found I had to bite down at times (specially when turning my head) so that I wouldn't loose the mouth piece. I have also switched the position of the primary and secondary on the first stage to alleviate some of the pressure the hose created from the bend it makes coming around. I have also thought about turning the tank a little when mounting it to the BCD to widen the arc as well.

I use a comfo-bite mouthpiece. It is very comfortable for me. They have it in black and clear. My clear has yellowed, but is easy to see to clean. They go from about $9-14 depending on where you buy them. You do not have to bite down so hard to keep it in your mouth thus reducing jaw fatigue.

Seacure moldable mouthpiece. It fits so well that, most of the time, I'm not even biting onthe mouth piece.

The "wings" are much longer than standard mouthpieces. They can, however, be trimmed.

As far as sharing the mouth piece with another diver: 1) if they really need it, they probably aren't going to complain about the fit and "mouth feel"; and, 2) ahm...octo?

My instructor got upset as we used my octo for buddy breathing. I showed him my ugly mouthpiece with spit hanging from it, and he said OK.

Comfo-Bite users of the world, UNITE! Muahaha!

Okay, so I like mine. Of course, I've never bought one, as my regs all came with them.

I LOVE my SeaCure.

I used to have a bit of jaw ache and my reg would sometimes slid around when I turned. With the SeaCure, I forget that I have a reg in my mouth.

I just got back from an 1:10 dive without any slipping, sliding or jaw tension.
