There is some good news for the Storm Divers.

The Porta Johns are back :D :D :D :D

They are protected by Jersey Barriers.

The grass was cut, and the trash cans are back as well :cool2: :cool2: :cool2:

Now, if only the vis would come back :shakehead: :shakehead: :shakehead:

Anyone diving the 4th of July weekend ?

May be there this weekend but depends on my dive group. The problem with diving in a group not all are willing to get wet if it rains. This year has been a wet one for sure. Funny afraid to get wet if you are going to dive? Well if all goes well will see you there, stop by and introduce yourself...........

That is why they invented Dry Suits. Now they need to come up with a lightning proof dry suit. :shocked2:

Well sports fans we were at The Mount today, and I am afraid to report the water temp at the surface was a mere 79 degrees. Viz was about 4 feet and the weather was windy and misty--can't really call it rain. Being it is July the water seems to be warming at a slower rate than normal---arghhhh. At 52 feet got a temp of 68 degrees. Did not go deep, just shallow dives this fine day---lol

I was at Storm today hardly anyone around. What is with the vis? I had maybe 6 feet at the most. The temps were 78 on surface and 69 at 50 feet. Great day for a tan...or a sunburn. It seemed like there was more algae growth this year than before. Any reason why? Is VEPCO not circulating the lake as much?

They were only running one stack most of the winter/spring. With that I would have to assume that the number of times the lake cycled was much less. But who knows if that is the reason for the low vis or not. Some other divers were there over a month ago and had great vis...well...for Storm at least. SO I dunno...

I was there yesterday for a few dives. 79 at the surface, and 78 down to 35ft. My wife and son were with me, so we didn't go any lower. I'd say viz was around 8ft. All in all a nice day. We were the only divers there.

Wow....I was in Iowa. We really need to meet up with you and Teresa.
