We see lots of folks with duct tape behind their ears. As DocV said, shave, and alcohol prep wipes are what you need to make it stick. The duct tape works if you can stand to have strangers point and laugh. Of course, you'll all be friends by the end of the trip, so if you can stand to have friends point and laugh, you are in great shape.

The person who said try it ahead of time was correct. I've seen a few folks who blew a pupil and suffered from blurry vision, which leads to nausea. You don't want to screw up a few days of Galapagos diving because you didn't try it beforehand.

Hey JohnN,

Actually, the brand name is Zofran; the generic form is ondansetron.

Thanks!! I kan spel reel guud somtimes !!

John, you probably know this already but mind the side effects of the Zofran. It can cause drowsiness, dizziness, etc. and could act synergistically with nitrogen narcosis.

Could we say the same about scopolamine and Dramamine?HD

Hi jar546,

We certainly can, and about a whole boat load of other antimotion sickness agents.

Regarding "Dramamine", the "Original Formula" (dimenhydrinate) is a bigger offended than "Less Drowsy" (meclizine) (not be interpreted as non-drowsy). In addition, you might find this about dimenhydrinate to be of interest --> Diving with Dramamine? [Archive] - ScubaBoard - Scuba Diving Forum - Diving Social Network (scroll down to last post).

Regards,

DocVikingo
