What was the most valuable lesson you learned in the technical nitrox(or advanced nitrox) course you took?
 
Dont breath the wrong gas
 
proper tank analysis, labeling and gas switch proceedures is the greates way of avioding breathing the wrong gas, which is one of (probably the primary) cause of death in mixed gas diving..

That the training helps you to understand the physics of diving in a way that will make you a more aware diver over all.

I've heard it phrased as "lean left, rich right" as well.

As long as it's the same on every dive, it will prevent breathing the wrong mix ( that's the important part )
