What is the most cylinders that you have seen on one diver? http://www.nautic-dive.com/de/images/tec1.JPG shows a diver with 2 on his back and 5 trailing from his waist or hips, total = 7, all full size (not ponies)! That load can't have helped his swimming hydrodynamics much. I suspect that a big rebreather would be more useful than an open-circuit "tank farm" that big.

I think I see 7 around the diver in the middle.

Sometimes I think my single tank is heavy :)

did they have a crane to get that guy in the water with his "double doubles"

Please, what is the correct technical term for a fullsized cylinder trailing from the hip or waist?

Eh, I don't know if its a 'term,' but we call them "bottles on a leash" (which is a loop of rope and a double ended bolt snap used to hold multiple bottles when you run out of real estate under your arm).

A deco bottle, stage, or safety all might be placed on a leash. Its the function that determines what its called.

If the side-cylinder is under the arm, which part of what is it tethered to?
