...you're not supposed to just sit there and let them feast on you. NO jacuzzi dip is worth it!

That depends on who he's in the Jacuzzi with....some boys will do anything if they know .....errrr......I'm stopping there.

the movie "My Big fat Greek Wedding"? I'm the Greek father with the Windex. When ever my kids get bit I hit them with the Windex.

They make amonnia sticks that work great for bits. The amonnia in the Windex does the same thing.

Natasha,
I think everyone has given to you all the remedies to alleve the effects of mosquito bites. In the future, whenever outside wear clothes! Long pants and shirts of light weight materials.

I worked and lived in Florida for many years and if I have to do outside work and stay stationary, I always set up a large fan to blow moving air. This serves too purposes, first it feels cooler and second it blows the mosquitos away.

For children, a repellent is iffy, so see a doctor first. But deet is the item to use if you are an adult. For Texas, may I suggest Deep Woods Off (lots of deet).

Thanks everyone. He made it through the night.
My new dilemma:
A huge spider..almost the size of my palm, and black. I saw while having my cereal this morning. Not sure what to do ..no one is at home, and I have to leave... The joys of Texas.

Its the scorpions that you have to watch. Ocassionally, a snake or two......especially after a good down pour.

If it's hairy, it's probably a tarantala. Big, and their bite is painful, but harmless, unless you're allergic. Shoo him away, and go about your day.

The spider won't eat too much while you are gone. Although he may appreciate some nice insects once in a while for a good source of fiber.

Can't help there -- I think I would just pass out --- but if you ever come across something named Mopiko ointment, get some for future use on those mosquito bites. Works wonders.

My Grandmother told me that if one or two are bothering you to take your finger nail and cross it. Believe it or not it works. Give it a try you will be surprised.

Yeah, I left out the Mopiko. It is a white tube with green and red words over it. We never miss this important tube in our house.
