Riverwater temps are close enough to springwater temps that there won't be a nice layer below a tannic layer either... it'll all be a mixed up soup of ****.
 
We ended up going to Vortex. I knew the water level was going to be around 7' but thought it was worth checking out. We could have dived the cavern but I had a fresh cavern student that needed some open water time with gear configuration and the brown water was a little worse than expected.
The cavern chould have been clear judgeing by the flow, although it would have been a cave dive because of the lack of light getting past the entrance.
