Thanks again everyone here who posted a lot of very helpful info. I will be leaving in a few days time, but as an update to this thread i booked 2 dives at cook island with cooly dive, and 3 dives at julian rocks with sundive. I will post pics and impressions when i return in a month.

Your going to find out the hard way, why I don't book ahead unless absolutely necessary.....just got a monster low pressure come thru; Floods and stuff here- this is what sunshine coast looks like Julie McKenzie's Photos | Facebook

The best place to dive today is tha Abyss car park.
The latest report from the car park is good vis, 20c water temp, swell from SE but not much fish life yet!

From Abyss Scuba in Sydney.:cool2:

Sorry if the weather spoiled your plans, Anthony. It's great conditions for sitting in the pub talking about diving. The joys of coming to Australia in summer...there are always lots of exciting weather events around!

Unfortunately, i picked the worst week to visit brisbane :( No diving for me this week, but i should get some in the pacific islands from the cruise im taking. Oh well, atleast i tried surfing ;)
