Wow. It's amazing to see the island and familiar places looking, like you said, "like a bomb went off". It's good to see that the recovery is in full swing -looks like the repairs are going pretty quickly too considering the amount of damage. Of course, we all know they have to be ready for tourists ASAP to get their economy back...

The other thing I noticed was lack of safety precautions. People standing around downed power lines, shoveling rocky debris in flip-flops. Geesh -makes me cringe! Guess islanders are used to living in sandles and stuff though. We here in Chicago are just bringing our insulated boots back out of the closet. :(

I can't see enough pics... the bad ones make me sad, but the ones of the cleanup and the people going on with their jobs make me feel better.

My friend Dave sent me a compilation of his own before pics, set alongside after pics that he saw on the web. It's in an email, not online, so if anyone would like me to send it, just send me a message with your email.

Great link. Thanks.

Thanks for the link Ron
Our restaurant above Pelagic Ventures didn't fare too well did it.
Was Troy able to get all of his stuff from out of the office.

I am amazed by the amount of cleanup done with such limited resources. Maybe we should fire all the FEMA people and contract it out to Mexico?!?!?!?

:)

They are doing an incredible job...and I salute the government of Mexico, especially the Cozumel Mayor, Gustavo Ortega!

I told him god is on his side. The house is OK,the gate blew off and the wall heading up to the bedrooms fell into the dentists yard.
