External strobe?
Yes... I always prefer a strobe, unless there is a reason not to use it... really brings out the color!

FWIW, #3 is actually some type of Sharptail Eel or a (black-spotted) Snake Eel. Only seen one of those, as opposed to gold- and white-spotted Sharptails, which are pretty common in Aruba.
Did you shoot those in Macro? Been thinking about upgrading to the DC1400, mainly for the optical zoom and and a few other additional options, and if the Macro-setting works that well, that would be a big plus.
