Sometimes when you walk by a trade show booth your drawn into the booth by flash, glitz, barkers, and all kinds of attention attracting concepts. And sometimes when you walk by, you see something that interests your more cerebral portion if the mind.
Moose and I went into the NOAA booth to find out what the "Weather and satellite people" had going on at DEMA. We learned that NOAA maintains some of the most terrific marine santuaries, and they are looking to build a "Dive Alliance" with the dive community. Specifically focusing on education awareness and building partnerships with individual divers.
NOAA asks the question of the dive community "What can you do to advance ocean conservation?" This question should be followed with "What can we do together?"
Visit NOAA's Marine Sanctuary sight at NOAA National Marine Sanctuaries: Oceans, Marine Life, Shipwrecks, Diving, Whales and see what you can do.
Pictured below is Monika Thiele from NOAA. Monica reminds Scubaboard visitors to avoid playing with the marine turtles. The turtle in the photo is no longer ocean going.
