The blenny/goby/whatever it is looks like it has a crown of thorns. Very cool. and I've never seen a spanish shawl in Monterey!
 
Lovely shots, you feel you get a sense of the goby's personality!
 
Thanks Fuggler & Ali. Fuggler, I'm shocked you haven't seen a Spanish Shawl. They're one of the more common nudis around Monterey. Look for them on tube anemones and any of the more protected rock reefs. I've seen them several times taking students on tours of the breakwater.
