The water temp today in the coves at Monterey was 57^F.

Two weeks ago the temp was 54^F.

Our mini heat spell for the past couple of weeks has warmed things up by 3^F in the close coastal waters.

Diving was nice today, bright sunshine, clear skies, warm weather.

Vis was 15 to 20 ft, due to some sort of algae bloom.

The ocean water should start to clarify as the weeks pass now, on into autumn.

You were right about it clearing up. I'd guess we had about 40 feet of vis at breakwater yesterday. Until the students hit the water at least

I was just south of Lovers 3, and the surge/waves kept the vis down to 5 feet until we got to around 30 ft down...then it opened up to around 25-30ft vis for the remainder of the dive.

Our surface temp was 61, with bottom temp (59ft) at around 56F.

Loved the dive though...A harbor seal latched onto my fin briefly, causing me to grin like a cheshire cat...LOL
