Hi all! Just got my C-card last weekend at Breakwater. Had loads of fun. Supposed to head to Tahiti in a week for a couple of weeks. Should get some good warm water dives in there, then I'm doing the SSI Advanced Open Water class in Sept. Figure it is best to get a few dives under my belt with some pros around.

I plan on diving Breakwater for a while when I return. Seems to be a great place to practice buoyancy, get to know my gear and still has some cool diving at 20'.

Mark, congratulations and welcome to Scubaboard!

You've got some nice diving there in Monterey--our boys dove there years ago, before I ever learned how. Don't know about Tahiti, though--might spoil you for the rough-and-tumble of low temps and lower viz:)

Hi, congratulations and welcome.
I think you did the right thing to learn in the cold and poor visibility and then enjoy the delights of the tropics once or twice a year. Have fun on the board and under the water.

Welcome Mark! Your gonna love Tahiti-I was there for two weeks several years back and am anxiously awaiting a return trip someday!
Congrats on your cert!

Howdy!

Mark,

Welcome to ScubaBoard from a fellow Silicon Valley diver!

You do realize that you are required by law to post a report from your Tahiti trip afterwards!

Thanks everyone.

Course I'll post a report. It'll probably be something like this:

"Sorry, I'm typing this with on hand. I heard that nurse sharks were quite docile. The one I befriended had dirty teeth. I decided to brush them for her ...."
