Monterey - April 18th - scuba fatality or unrelated?

I was looking for details on any scuba related deaths in Monterey on April 18th. Someone from my work died there on that day, but the only details I have are "while on a scuba trip". It's possible the two were unrelated... Google searches have turned up nothing.

Coincidentally that was the day before my first scuba cert class.

There was a fatality April 18th diving off one of the commercial dive boats.
There was nothing in the newspaper about it. Reportedly a heart attack in
the water.
