We were diving at Firehouse and some folks walked down to say that a Monk Seal was napping on the beach at Three Tables. We used our surface interval to walk down and take a look.

I just had my cell phone so the photo appears to be of a rock on the beach (they had it cordoned off). But it was pretty cool, none-the-less. Exept for high up on Makapu 'u, this is my first sighting in the wild.

They show up where they want it seems. Months back one had taken up residence at Sandy Beach. Had the area roped off and signs not to disturb. Just hangin' on the sand snoozing away........

heres a good pic of the one at 3 tables. btw, check out my starter camera for sale on my ebay auction.
